This collection is inspired by the various ghosts in Japanese art, ukiyo-e. In the late years of the Shogunate Dynasty, with the economic recession and frequent occurrence of earthquakes, people were living in pain and fear with the rising crime rate. Yet, the folk culture flourished. The demonic ukiyo-e was a reflection of the greedy, desperate and dark society.
